If your home state belongs to NCLA, or Nurse Licensure Compact, you can work in any member of the compact state without having to get another license. You should, however, have a professional license, either an LPN or RN, in good standing at their resident compact state. Usually, you need to fill up a form and pay a nominal amount to start the process. You can ask your nursing state board association if you like to make use of compact license. So far, there are 20 states that belong to NCLA while 3 states are awaiting approval.
